Modell260715 Eyes are a prominent facial feature. It is the surrounding skin, rather than the eyes themselves, that conveys emotion. Changes in the skin of the face, drooping eyebrows and fat deposits on the upper and lower eyelids are the first signs of the normal aging process.

The first signs in the morning (puffy eyes) may become noticeable in the 30s. Drooping eyelids become more frequent in the mid -30s or 40s. Make-up does not helps as it disappears into the eyelids folds. Drooping eyelids are a highly individual problem and depend largely on hereditary factors, as well as the specific qualities of your skin.

The aging process can cause unwanted changes in expression, causing you to look permanently fatigued and older than you really are. These changes in appearance can cause emotional distress.

Blepharoplastica helps to eliminate drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle. It may involve upper lids, the lower lids, or both. Sometimes used in cojunction with others esthetic operations.

Length: 1 to 2 hours.

Anesthetic: usually local or sedation.

Side effects: temporary discomfort the first 2 to 3 days - tightness of lids, swelling, bruising. Temporaly burning, itching of eyes. Excessive tearing, sensitivity to light.

Risks: infection, bleeding, dry eyes. Visible scarring.

Recovery: total rest 2 to 3 days. Back to work 7 to 10 days. After 3 weeks normal activities.

Duration of results: results are relatively permanent - no large bags will appear under the eyes again if wrinkles appear around them over time.
